Stephen R. Jones micro-crystalline ceramic bowl, c. 1980s. Defined by its exceptional pale turquoise and ivory micro-crystalline glaze, where naturally formed crystals radiate across the surface to create a one-of-a-kind design.
Signed to the base, Jones became renowned for reviving the highly complex micro-crystalline glazing process first explored by Bernard Moore in the late nineteenth century. Each crystalline formation develops naturally within the kiln, ensuring every piece is entirely unique. Jones' work received Design Council recognition, and examples are held in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
