Large Ashanti Wood Stool: 20th Century Primitive African Stool

Carved from a single piece of indigenous Ghanaian wood, each stool has a rectangular base and a distinctive curved seat supported by a central column carved in geometric or figural forms.

An indicator of status and family, stools play an integral role in traditional Ashanti culture. A stool is given to a child when they are born and used in personal milestones throughout the rest of their life. Ashanti stools are perfect as a low side table or as a sculptural decorative stool for anywhere in the home.

Excellent vintage condition, with wear reflective of its age.

* Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery.
* Buyers must notify me of their wish to return within 48 hours of receiving their order.
* Once a return has been agreed, items must be sent back within 5 working days.
* Return postage is the responsibility of the buyer.
* Returns are accepted for store credit only.

If you have changed your mind and no longer wish to keep your item, please get in touch within the timeframe above so I can provide return instructions. Once the item has been safely received back in its original condition, store credit will be issued for the full value of the item, excluding the original shipping costs. Store credit can be used against any future purchase in my shop.

If an item is returned and arrives damaged due to insufficient packaging or transit damage, a deduction may be made from the total amount credited.
